Charity Overview – Goal
Feed Our Homeless was established in 2017 set up by founder Tony Walsh and Co Founder Natasha Morgan in Dublin’s City Centre. FOH are actively dedicated to making a difference to the lives of people who are affected by homelessness also who are most marginalised in society. Tony was once homeless for 18 years, sleeping rough, in and out of emergency accommodation so he understands the daily struggles homeless people face and the dark places homelessness can bring a person. he went on to work in the sector as a professional working with homeless people for many years after going to third level education and completing a diploma and degree in addiction. He went on to educating young students within secondary schools raising awareness around homelessness, drug, alcohol, and crime prevention. He believes education is vital to young people. Through his experience he understands how challenging it can be to break the cycle of homelessness without the support of the professionals in the community. He believes homelessness and drug addiction can be prevented in the early stages of life. He also believes this can be achieved by educating and encouraging young people to stay in school, get involved in sports or outside activities, youth programmes within the community. His aim is to always raise awareness among young people within the community to help them avoid taking the wrong path he once took. Tony believes giving support and encouragement and having belief in others gives hope and the ability to change. Tony believes to never give up on a person. Through encouragement, motivation and someone believing in them they can reach their full potential.
